Building in timber stretches back through many generations and wood is a proven building material, reliable and sustainable. The amount of energy needed in the process of building log houses is only a fraction of the corresponding needs of construction with other materials, building with wood is a truly sustainable solution and timber has once again become the building material of the future.

In-house Design

We employ our own Honka trained designers who can create a 3D working model of your building either from your architects plans, your own sketches or by modifying previously designed buildings. These 3D designs are a complete working model of the building giving you the confidence that what you see is what you get.

Designs can range from traditional Scandinavian chalets to modern contemporary homes and with the Honka Look features, every element of the building can be customised including doors, windows, architraves, floor finishes and wall panelling.

Log Walls with HonkaTech(TM) Solutions

Honka produce laminated rectangular logs which are glued from two or more segments so that the durable heartwood primarily faces the surface of the log. Honka use environmentally friendly glue that does not obstruct the best feature of massive wood, namely it's breathability. Laminating minimises the twisting and cracking of the logs and the factory at Alajarvi, where Honka's laminated logs are produced, has the most advanced glueing technology in Europe.
